Brain Injury, Burn, Paralysis, Sensory Loss and Other Catastrophic Injuries

Foley & Small has vast experience in dealing with the catastrophic injury case. These cases can be the most serious and tragic for our clients and their families. They are also the most emotionally rewarding for us as we have the opportunity to help our client and his or her family take care of and provide for their special needs not only for the present but for the entire life of the client. We work with life care planners who are experts in analyzing and determining the specialized medical, vocational and daily life care needs of the serious injured client now and for the future. The life care planner will be provided with all medical, vocational and therapy records. The client and his or her family will meet with the life care planner to provide information to assist in the planning necessary to provide for the client’s financial and daily support needs.

Economists will be retained to undertake a financial analysis of the economic losses suffered by the client, including loss of pay, pension, and other benefits that the client would have otherwise obtained had he or she been able to continue in their work and ordinary life. The economists will also complete an analysis of the present and projected costs to meat the client’s present and ongoing needs. The catastrophically injured client and his or her family will also be provided with recommendations and access to psychological, family, marriage and other counseling and therapy to address the various emotional, psychological, social and spiritual issues and needs that arise in such a dramatic change in life.
