Settlement of $987,000 in vehicle collision with multiple injuries. Doug Small obtained a settlement in a case pending in the St. Joseph Superior Court and set to go to trial at the end of October, 2008. The case was resolved at mediation and involved claims stemming from injuries to several family members whose vehicle was struck by another traveling at excessive speed. An accident reconstructionist was employed and an assessment by a pediatric neuropsychologist was undertaken as to a closed head injury to one of the children. The settlement included the purchase of structured annuities for two of the children, having total future payouts of over $2 million, to meet their future needs
Verdict of $200,000.00 in medical malpractice claim. Ed Foley obtained a verdict in the Elkhart Superior Court in a medical malpractice claim involving allegations of negligence in performing a lumbar fusion. The case was tried before Judge Biddlecome over the course of three days.
Verdict of $295,000.00 in vehicle collision. Doug Small obtained a verdict in the St. Joseph Circuit Court of $295,000.00 in a case arising in a vehicle collision in St. Joseph County. The clients injuries involved lumbar vertebral compression fractures and a comminuted tibia fracture.
Verdict of $105,000.00 involving a TMJ injury. Doug Small obtained a verdict in the St. Joseph Superior Court in a vehicle collision resulting in temporomandibular joint injuries involving a course of treatment of over two years.
Verdict of $65,000.00 in claim involving tendon rupture and olfactory nerve damage. Doug Small obtained a verdict in the St. Joseph Superior Court of $65,000.00 in a claim involving a biceps tendon requiring surgical repair and head injury resulting in damage to the olfactory nerve resulting in a partial loss of sense of smell.
